Print Ad 1- Marc Jaocobs

I love the newest ad campaign for Marc Jacobs, featuring former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham. These two images are only previews of the campaign, with new ads appearing in the March issues of Vogue and other women's fashion magazines. I feel like they really channel the eccentricities of Marc Jacob's fashion, and show off the humor he tries to also reflect in his line of fashion, literally saying that his line is Posh-In-A-Bag! Beckham usually shown in the media as this stiff, very posh, snotty type of woman but I think these ads show different side of her as well. Posh Spice has a sense of humor!

They're also kind of ironic, portraying a huge celebrity like Beckham as one of his creations, almost as if he's saying the world, "Look what I've made." The second image of her stepping out of the jewelry box drives this point home, and reminds me of a doll coming to life.

I really can't see much in this ad that don't like. I think the simplicity of the rest of the image really plays well and and focuses all eyes on the central image. It distinctly a Jacob's ad, with the white backgrounds and simplicity, but just added a funny twist by featuring Beckham. I've been a huge fan of his fashion designs for years, and I always look forward to what eccentric ads he comes up with each season. You never mistake his ads for a typical fashion advertisement and I think that really makes him stand out in the industry (aside from his pieces each season, of course).
